“With the advent of smartphones, devices, social media, our time and space can be so overly occupied with mindless scrolling through various apps etc. that we miss moments in our waking lives that could bring so much more value.

 

Soon after listening to the rhythm  a few times, I came  up with the melody and lyrics for the chorus “Be in the same time with life, don’t let the moments pass you by” , which sparked some introspection.”

 

These are the words of Rayven Amani, singer / songwriter, recording artist and the main brain behind the Jamaica School band competition.

“In This Moment” is her second collaboration with Jubba White of White Stone Productions.

 

Jubba is a drummer, recording artist and producer a white Stone Productions that started a similar initiative called bands incorporated in 2008. This was in the form of a platform for self contained bands to showcase themselves at the time, in Kingston Jamaica.

This had yielded some amazing results, similar to that of the Jamaica best school band competition, which is currently nurturing and providing tools to the young musicians in high school that might want to pursue music.

 

More about the inspiration behind the song:

About Jubba White:

Jubba White is a No. 1 Billboard-charting Reggae producer, a Grammy-nominated session musician and vocalist that charted at No. 3 on the iTunes Reggae chart.
