“Freedom Pill (Oakland),” the latest single from Oakland, California-based alt-rocker YANG, is a song about two star-crossed lovers. Madison, the female protagonist, is a beautiful but troubled firebrand, the narrator an introspective, insecure loner. Their love is intense but unstable and liable to disappear like a brilliant meteorite burning up in Earth’s atmosphere. Originally released in 2021 this version, recorded with YANG’s new Oakland-based band, may well be the definitive one.

On release day, June 21st, a music video to accompany the single will be released on YANG’s VEVO channel.
