to Kingston with a Powerful Line-up

The annual Jo Mersa Marley Birthday Celebration returns for its third staging with a new venue and an electrifying lineup of reggae and dancehall greats. This year’s tribute concert will take place at the iconic Bob Marley Museum on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 7pm, bringing the celebration to Kingston’s heart—a space rich with Marley history and musical vibrations. While the 2025 event is confirmed for its current location, it may return to Nine Mile or another venue in future.
The 2025 Jo Mersa Marley Birthday Celebration promises an unforgettable night of music, unity, and tribute, honouring the life and impact of Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley. He left an indelible mark on reggae music before his untimely passing in December 2022, and this special event will bring together family, friends, and fans to celebrate his legacy through powerful performances. Headlining the tribute concert are The Marley Brothers (Stephen, Julian, Ky-Mani, and Damian) alongside the next generation of Marley talent, including Skip Marley, Yohan Marley, Hymn Marley, Mystic Marley, and Shacia Payne. A star-studded lineup of additional artists will be announced soon, as we continue to honour Jo Mersa’s spirit and artistry in true reggae fashion.

The move to the Bob Marley Museum enhances the connection to the Marley legacy. Once the home of Bob Marley, Jo Mersa’s grandfather, the museum embodies his spirit, music, and enduring influence on the world. Jo Mersa grew up at 56 Hope Road attending school in his youthful days at St Peter & Paul Preparatory. Hosting the celebration at this iconic venue allows fans to fully immerse themselves in the history and energy of the Marley heritage while celebrating Jo Mersa’s enduring musical contributions. Additionally, its central location makes it an ideal gathering place for family, friends, and fans to come together in tribute to Jo Mersa Marley’s life and legacy.
The concert begins at 8pm, with gates opening at 7pm. Parking will be at the Police Officer’s Club with shuttles to and from the venue. Tickets will be available for purchase at The Bob Marley Museum and Tuff Gong International Studios. Tickets are also available online at Caribtix.com. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early to be part of this memorable tribute.

About Jo Mersa Marley
Joseph “Jo Mersa” Marley was a gifted singer, songwriter, and producer who carried forward the rich musical legacy of the Marley family. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in a household steeped in reggae, Jo Mersa developed a distinctive sound that blended traditional roots reggae with contemporary influences. As the son of Stephen Marley and grandson of Bob Marley, he honoured his family’s musical heritage while carving out his own identity with hits like “Burn It Down,” “Hurting Inside,” “Rock and Swing,” and “Comfortable,” as well as “Guess Who’s Coming Home” and “We Made It” from his last EP ‘Eternal.’
With an unmistakable voice and a talent for storytelling, Jo Mersa connected deeply with fans across the world, using his music to spread messages of unity, love, and resilience. His contributions to reggae and dancehall extended beyond performance—he was also an innovative producer, collaborating with some of the industry’s biggest names.
Though his transition in December 2022 was a profound loss, his spirit lives on through his music and the celebration of his legacy. The Jo Mersa Marley Birthday Celebration honours his life, passion, and enduring impact on the reggae world.
