Rita Marley’s Legacy Takes Centre Stage in “Rhythms of Rita” 79th Birthday Tribute

July 23, 2025 – Kingston, Jamaica: The Bob Marley Group of Companies is proud to announce “Rhythms of Rita”, a joyful multi-platform celebration honouring the 79th birthday of Reggae icon, humanitarian, and cultural matriarch, The Hon. Dr. Alferita “Rita” Marley, OJ, OD, LITT. The festivities begin this Friday, July 25, with a star-studded concert airing exclusively on Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio, SiriusXM Channel 19, and continue with a live-streamed event on Tuff Gong TV’s YouTube channel, plus a full day of music, wellness, and creative expression at the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston.

The Rhythms of Rita Concert on Tuff Gong Radio will showcase electrifying performances from some of Jamaica’s most beloved artists: Tanto Metro & Devonte, whose infectious hits have moved audiences from Kingston to the world; Tony Gregory, a soulful stalwart of Jamaican music for over 60 years; Mr Easy, a chart-topping vocalist with a signature fusion of Reggae and R&B; Stevie Face, whose smooth delivery has captivated fans worldwide; and Shalom, who brings ‘good news’ and great vibes.

Listeners can tune in to SiriusXM Channel 19 on July 25th to catch the exclusive audio broadcast, and later watch the full video concert and birthday tributes at 5PM ET / 4PM JA time on Tuff Gong TV’s YouTube Channel.

For those in Jamaica, join us for the celebration at 56 Hope Road, home of the Bob Marley Museum. The day begins with Fitness Friday at 6:30AM, led by wellness advocate and fitness coach Kamila McDonald, and joined by girls from Football is Freedom and youth teams from local netball and basketball programs.

Join the mission and swing by our Creative Corner to support the Trench Town Youth pop-up shop, featuring handcrafted items made by the kids. All proceeds go toward their school fees. Then stick around for a Rita Marley collage activity, karaoke, and interactive sessions for children and families.

Stop by the One Love Cafe for lunch and dig into mouthwatering bites from Kamila’s Pop Up Kitchen, then feel the beat at our noon Lunchtime Concert, bringing live music to the heart of the museum. Internationally, the name Marley is synonymous with reggae music and the culture of Jamaica. It is no coincidence that the talented young Rita Anderson was destined to become a cornerstone of the musical Marley family.
