Reggae icon Chaka Demus returns with a fresh interpretation of the beloved Jamaican rocksteady classic “Perfidia,” made famous by Phyllis Dillon, this time featuring dynamic Jamaican vocalist Isha Bel.

While staying true to the spirit of the original, Chaka Demus introduces a fresh dimension with original deejay lyrics and vocal interplay, telling the story of heartbreak from both the male and female perspectives.

Isha Bel delivers the emotional voice of the woman, while Chaka Demus answers from the Jamaican male perspective, creating a heartfelt musical conversation on love, betrayal and forgiveness.

Produced by Chaka Demus and Grub Cooper, the pair worked together in the studio to bring Chaka Demus’ vision and arrangement to life with an outstanding team of musicians: Franklin “Bubbler” Waul, Ian Knight, G-Sharp, Richie Sax, and Grub Cooper on Drums. The single was mixed by Fatta Marshall.
