SIRIUSXM LISTENERS TO AN EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW

OF BOB MARLEY’S BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE CONCERT, ‘ONE LOVE 79’

FEATURING JESSE ROYAL, CHRIS MARTIN, CE’CILE, LUTAN FYAH, PAM HALL, D’YANI AND YEZA

Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio (Channel 19 on SIRIUSXM) presents the exciting ‘One Love 79’ tribute concert showcasing both established and upcoming acts on what is sure to be a thrilling bill in honour of Bob Marley’s 79th birthday. The digital event will be beamed live from Kingston’s legendary Tuff Gong studio on Friday, January 26, beginning at 5pm Eastern time.

The lineup encompasses a broad array of popular Jamaican music styles, from the classic soul-inflected tones of versatile veteran Pam Hall to the up-to-the-moment “street culture” sounds of rising stars D’Yani and Yeza.  Conscious crooners Lutan Fyah and Jesse Royal, reggae popster Chris Martin and “original bad gyal” (bad girl) Ce’cile, all exceedingly well traveled and beloved in their concentric reggae/dancehall circles, round out the lineup. Renowned radio host, Ron Muschette, takes on hosting duties.

SiriusXM subscribers worldwide will have exclusive access to the concert taping via Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio, channel 19 and the SiriusXM app at 5pm Eastern. An encore presentation will air at 8pm Eastern.

In conjunction with the February 14th opening of the highly anticipated new film Bob Marley: One Love (via Paramount Pictures), Island Records and Tuff Gong are proud to announce the release of BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE (MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE FILM), an EP presenting seven essential songs composed by the revered Jamaican reggae icon, as interpreted by contemporary stars Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Jessie Reyez, Bloody Civilian, and Skip Marley, grandson of Bob Marley.

The Marley family had a hand in choosing and approving all selections for the EP.  This under­scores the strong, enduring six-decade relationship with Island Records, the Marley family, and Jamaica, elements which are reflected in the movie as well.  Also noted: five of the EP’s seven songs originated on Exodus (1977), the landmark RIAA gold LP by Bob Marley & the Wailers: “Natural Mystic,” “Exodus,” “Waiting in Vain,” “Three Little Birds,” and the eponymous “One Love.”

“The mission is always to spread Daddy’s music to every corner of the Earth, and we were very thoughtful in handpicking these artists,” said Cedella Marley.  “Having his songs rebirthed at the same time we get to show the world his story through this movie, is something that my family and I are extremely proud to be a part of.”
